The Ice Road
The Ice Road, starring Liam Neeson (Taken, Schindler’s List), is a new Netflix original survival thriller starring Liam Neeson (Taken, Schindler’s List). When a distant diamond mine in northern Canada collapses, an ice driver must lead an incredible rescue effort over a frozen ocean to save the trapped miners. Nothing in this film is surprising, but Liam Neeson is back in his own, making The Ice Road a delightful watch for fans of both the actor and the genre.
A woman’s daring sexual past collides with her married-with-kids present when the bad-boy ex she can’t stop fantasizing about crashes back into her life.

False Positive is a disturbing yet interesting film about what it takes to become a mother. Ilana Glazer, the funny girl from Broad City, takes on a more emotional — if not terrifying — role as a woman who is urgently attempting to conceive with her husband. The notion isn’t new to us, but the accuracy with which False Positive illustrates the countless hoops that women must sometimes jump through merely to become mothers, as well as the ways in which they themselves enforce patriarchal norms and are complicit in their own subjugation, is unsettling. This is not a lighthearted picture, but it is one that should be seen by everyone.

This Amazon original series based on the popular Michael Connelly book series chronicles the exploits of detective Harry Bosch (played superbly by Titus Welliver) over several seasons of crime, drama, and all the other spectacular trappings that come with the genre. We’ll miss yelling “BOSCH!” while watching this program, but season 7 is guaranteed to give a satisfying conclusion.
