Streaming music via Spotify is about to get easier as there are plans underway for Spotify to launch in Uganda and 80 other new markets worldwide. One of the world’s most popular audio streaming platforms is working to reach new and never before tapped markets In addition, there will be 36 new languages added to the platform.

This expansion will connect creators, listeners and content from all these different countries to a central platform where they can interact through music. Now many Ugandans can forget about the hustle of streaming music on Spotify which required a Virtual Private Network connection since it wasn’t available in the country before. This kind of struggle will be no more really soon according to the recent announcements for Spotify to launch in Uganda and several African countries.

Until this announcement, Spotify has only been available in Algeria, South Africa, Tunisia, Egypt and Morocco in Africa. Many more African countries will be added to the ones that can access the platform as part of the plans for Spotify to launch in Uganda and 80 more countries across Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, and Latin America representing over 1 billion new fans.

More genres are going to be discovered globally like Amapiano, Reggeaton and K-Pop that Spotify says have earned their place in the global music arena. Through this expansion, Spotify will bring never before heard local content to the global spotlight.

Spotify is one of the most popular audio streaming platforms boasting 286 million users with a catalog of over 50 million songs and 700,000 podcast titles. It is reported that the streaming platform gets 40,000 songs added to the platform every day.

Some of the products to expect with time as the plans for Spotify to launch in Uganda and other markets worldwide are underway;

Plans: Free and Premium plans will be available across all the markets. In select markets, Spotify will offer Individual, Family, Duo, and Student Plan options.

User Experience: Listeners will be able to select and search from Spotify’s worldwide catalog when using the product, providing a personalized experience from day one. The home screen will surface personalized playlist programming for new listeners. The browse and search pages will feature worldwide content hubs, and adapt to the local market and the listener’s taste the more they use the service.

Music catalog: At launch, Spotify will offer its full global catalog in these new markets. The company will continuously work with local rights holders and partners o expand its catalog to include more offerings.

Podcasts: in the majority of these markets, Spotify will launch with its full podcast catalog. For others it will work closely with local partners to introduce more podcasts from its catalog.

Platforms: Upon launch, the Spotify experience will be available on Mobile and Desktop Web Player. Similar to other features, the company will work with partners to introduce Spotify on more platforms. Including TV, Wearables, and Car in the coming months.
