SafeBoda that has been known by many as an e-hailing company in other words an online company that provides transportation and delivery services has clarified with its new terms of use that it only allows users identify suppliers of transportation, delivery services, food and any other products on its platform. It does not offer the mentioned services but rather acts as a means for people to access them.

What do the SafeBoda new terms and conditions mean?

One of the most intriguing sections of the Safeboda new terms and conditions is where the company emphasizes it will not be responsible for the actions of any service providers. In simple terms, if you make an order for food through the application and this food is not delivered or happens to be substandard you cannot make a complaint to the app and if you do there will be no remedy since the company is not liable.

The company, therefore, advised users of its digital platform to exercise proper judgment when using the platform as it will not intervene in any disputes that may arise between a user and a service provider.

In the past, when users had complaints about service providers they would make complaints through the company’s lines of communication. But with the new SafeBoda terms and conditions, it looks like customers are on their own and no resolution will be given in case of a misunderstanding.

It is important to note that the term service provider refers to riders, restaurants and eating places, pharmacies and grocery stores that provide products through the application.

Seeing as the user will decide to choose a service provider, the responsibility now falls on them for any actions that the service provider may choose which means you can’t report a SafeBoda rider for misconduct.

Some of the things that the company will not be liable for under the new SafeBoda terms and conditions include physical damage, bodily injuries, death, emotional distress and discomfort.

The whole world has and continues to witness what WhatsApp is going through after taking similar action where it gave its users an ultimatum. If users didn’t agree with the new terms and conditions then they would risk losing their accounts and all chats. Things quickly went downhill for WhatsApp after this after users promised to move to alternative messaging apps, the favourites being Signal and Telegram that have had more downloads globally than they’ve ever had in a short time.

WhatsApp has since made desperate efforts to explain to its users what the new changes mean and clarify that many users’ concerns over sharing their data are not true. It seems people have moved on as there haven’t been any positive responses forcing the platform to postpone the unveiling of this update to a later date.

This could be a lesson for SafeBoda as it could see a similar end with people already expressing concerns over the new announcement.
