Equity Named the Best Regional Bank in East Africa by the 2021 African Banker Awards: Equity Bank has been named the Best Regional Bank in East Africa by the 2021 African Banker Awards. The award was conferred to the Bank for its strong and consistent financial performance, its role in leading the disruption of Fintech innovations in banking and for its consistency in championing the socio-economic development of communities through its various social impact initiatives.

Microsoft and IFC launch initiative to support Africa’s agri-food sector: Microsoft’s 4Afrika and IFC have launched a new initiative to train small-scale farmers and agriculture-linked small businesses in Africa

The programme aims to support digital transformation in Africa’s agribusiness sector, modernize supply chains and boost farmers’ productivity and incomes. 

Nigeria’s Viewmax is focusing on making it easier for people to watch the latest movies: Viewmax Entertainment is the latest addition to Nigeria’s crowded video on demand (VoD) space, focusing on bringing the latest local and international movies to urban and peri-urban communities who would otherwise be unable to see them.

Viewmax, founded by Abdulmalik Badamasi and Ayuba Abdullahi Mako in September 2020, aims to improve movie distribution on the African continent.
