Every time Apple announces a new operating system, it’s always worth a shot. At this year’s WWDC, the company unveiled the new iOS 15. While it is not yet fully released to the public, you can get a feel of it through the public beta that is already available.
There is quite a lot to expect from the new OS. However, the only way to get a first hand experience of the software is if you install it on your phone, yourself. As a precaution, given that it is just a beta, we advise that you install it on your secondary device and have your data backed up before the process.
How to install the iOS 15 public beta
As always, the first step is to make sure your device will be supported by iOS 15. This year, any device that could run iOS 14 is also compatible with iOS 15, which means anything newer than the iPhone 6S. If you are in doubt, check the list below:

Once your device falls in the above list, then it’s time to back up your device to iCloud, just in case you need to revert back to iOS 14 in the future. To back up your data, Open the iPhone Settings and then tap your Apple ID at the top of the screen. Once inside your account, go to iCloud and then scroll down to iCloud Backup and turn the option on. Then tap Back up now.
Getting the beta
To download the public beta, open your Safari app and go to Apple’s Beta Software Program site. Note that this won’t work on any other browser. Once there, do sign in with your Apple ID information and agree to the terms & conditions. If you don’t have a developer account, head to Beta Profiles and download the beta profile from their links. Then, enroll your device iPhone by downloading the iOS 15 public preview profile.
Scroll down to the Install Profile section of the website, tap on Download Profile and tap Allow on the pop-up. Once downloaded, go to Settings and tap the new section at the top, Profile Downloaded. Then install the profile.
Your iPhone will then restart to finish the profile install. Once the restart is finished, go back to the device Settings, then to General, and select Software Update to install the iOS 15 Public Beta update. When everything is done, you will now be running the iOS 15 public beta on your iPhone.
