MTN Uganda to start listing shares soon: MTN is the first telecommunications company to make progress towards listing. Listing shares on the stock exchange is one of the requirements given to telcos when they receive the National Telecom Operator License. In Uganda, only 3 out of the 33 telecom companies have attained this license so far. Those are MTN, Airtel and most recently Lycamobile.

How to prepare for Makerere’s online exams in a new (ab)normal: In order to do exams, students are required to do a mail migration from the old mail format to a new one. The new mail can be generated from the sso.mak.ac.ug website. Here one is required to activate their mail by submitting their student number and following procedures.

WhatsApp privacy policy to be made optional: The latest reports from WABetaInfo suggest that users won’t be forced to accept the new privacy terms. One will get an option to reject the new policy and WhatsApp won’t limit the functionality. The popular messaging platform is working towards releasing a new update soon, which will make its new privacy terms optional for users.

Huawei awards winners of the 2020 Huawei ICT competition: The country was represented by three students; Doreen Nalwoga from Lira Univesity, Shaffic Nyanzi, and Emmanuel Kiguli both are from Muni University. The three students’ achievement was attributed to Huawei Uganda’s continued recognition and efforts to build a competitive ICT talent pool among the youth who will be an indispensable accelerator for Uganda’s post-Covid-19 recovery and digitization.
