Buganda has a rich cultural heritage that needs to be explored, as culture gives most people a greater sense of belonging in society. People will be able to book experiences as a result of this partnership, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in Buganda culture.

The Buganda Kingdom Minister for Culture, Tourism, Palaces and Security, Owek David Kyewalabye Male officiated the function as he gave credit to the Tubayo team for creating access to tourism experiences through digital channels that appeal to the younger generation.

“Buganda has a strong cultural heritage that needs to be explored by today’s generation, hence the partnership with Tubayo to open up this rich heritage to them [the younger generation] through channels that appeal to them. The heritage will allow the youth to get experiences and learn more about their tradition.”

According to Brian Namanya, CEO Tubayo, the partnership will see both local and international tourists book their cultural tours by just hitting one button via the Tubayo App. He said, ” Tubayo is committed to giving the best experiences, creating a co-hosting program with Buganda as it allows people to list more experiences on the app.”

Buganda has already been added to the app as one of the top tourist attractions, making it easier and more convenient for travel enthusiasts to schedule tourism activities in and around Buganda and learn about the Kingdom’s cultural past.

“This is an opportunity for us to showcase experiences that are unique to our country and our culture. With the Tubayo app, you will be able to come and personally experience one of the few standing great Monarchies in Africa with about 700 years of existence.” Namanya said.

Booking cultural sites to get the full experience has been made easier with Tubayo. You can download the Tubayo app via the App Store and Google PlayStore to get started.

Tubayo has continued to transform the face of tourism in Uganda since its inception in 2018 as it takes the lead with its great experiences and access rates that have captured both the local and foreign markets.

To achieve this, Tubayo provides experiences for as low as $3 (UGX 10,600). This appeals to the customer base as they are availed with as many options to choose from. Through using Tubayo, travellers have access to almost 350 fully furnished ready-to-live-in to stay accommodation spaces across the country ranging from an entire home, an apartment or a room in someone’s home, to even a treehouse.
