How to read articles on Medium for free with these 2 methods
Use the Read Medium for free Chrome extension.
Simply type in your browser “Read Medium for free” extension.
You will see the option of “Read Medium for free” in your results.
Choose the option and tap add you will be directed to the chrome web store.
Once you are there, tap ‘Add to Chrome’.
To use the extension (the M logo next to the search bar on the right), click on it in the chrome bar every time you open a new article.
There will be a drop down menu with the second option being “can’t read or change site’s data.”
If this option is in light grey colour (i.e if its not clickable), then the article cannot be read by the extension. But if the option is black and is clickable, then it means you can read it for free.
Proceed to reload the page when you see the option “can’t read or change site’s data” in black/darkened colour.
There will be a number of options when you try clicking this option. Don’t bother with them, just reload the page normally.
When you reload the page, you’ll see the option “read for free” appear on a blue box next to the ‘upgrade’ option in the green box.
Click on the “read for free” option.
The website could keep reminding you that you have only two free articles left: But that doesn’t matter because you will still get access to the articles for free.

Using Twitter.
Medium articles are free when you visit them from Twitter.
