The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event was riveting, with the company unveiling four products in all. Here’s everything the tech giant revealed during its live stream on August 11th.

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 — two promising folding smartphones that appear to improve on their predecessors with more robust construction, cool new capabilities (like pen support), and significantly lower costs.

The foldable contains an under-display camera, which is one of its more notable features. When the Fold 3’s internal selfie camera isn’t in use, it will try to blend in with the screen. While you can still see the component, especially if your gaze wanders to that area of the screen, it helps the device feel more like a typical tablet.

Samsung also made the screen protector 80 per cent stronger with the addition of IPX8-rated waterproofing.

Galaxy Z Flip 3 is IPX8 water-resistant and is protected by Corning Gorilla GLass Victus. Samsung also outfitted the Flip 3 with a more usable Cover Display that is four times larger than the one found on its predecessor. That means there’s more room for notifications and widgets, and you can do things like access Android’s quick settings menu and Samsung Pay without opening the device.

Samsung Galaxy Bud 2 comes with dynamic two-way speakers to deliver crisp audio and deep bass, while Active Noise Cancellation helps block out unwanted noise. Also, there are three adjustable ambient sound levels. Samsung also added a machine learning feature that will filter out noises when you’re using the Buds 2 to talk to someone over the phone.

Both have a brand-new user interface and plenty of other wellness-focused features. In terms of hardware, Samsung added a 3-in-1 BioActive sensor that can measure your body fat percentage, a new 5nm processor and 50 per cent more RAM. Those latter additions should make the Galaxy Watch 4 feel faster. What’s more, the more expensive Watch 4 Classic features the return of the company’s much-loved rotating bezel.
